4th Anniversary of “Choreckshabti”

On 11 March, the 202nd meeting of the “Choreckshabti” [Wednesday] literature society took place at Humanities Reading Room of the Pedagogical University’s Academic Library.

Four years ago, a literary society was established at the ASPU and named “Choreckshabti” [Wednesday].

The Director of the Library, founder of the club, president of the “Zoravar” Foundation Tigran Petrosyants introduced the aim of the society that was established in 2013, its activities, objectives and achievements. The latter also noticed that there were a number of societies that could not survive the challenges of time and got liquidated. According to the founder of the club, the reason was human ambitions; thus, the “Choreckshabti” survived and overcame the establishment difficulties. During this period, four books have been published encompassing more than 200 persons’ works.

Tigran Petrosyants mentioned that he ASPU was in the core during the establishment of the society t, but throughout time it became clear that they shouldn’t base only on centre and made it an Armenian establishment.

“We founded centres at the universities of Artsakh too, and set connection with the Gevorgyan seminary of Etchmiadzin. This is a literary platform for creative young people which aims at equipping them with national values, develop young people’s creative opportunities”.

The ASPU teaching-professorial staff was also present at the society’s anniversary together with the students, composers, reciters, musicians and the clergy.

During the event, the presentation of the “Choreckshabti D” volume took place together with the presentation of two other books; accompanied by congratulations, performance, certificates awards, recitations, singing and dancing.

In the section “Creative Hour” a number of the society members presented new works followed by discussions thereabout.

In the section “Cultural Margin” poems by the society members were read.

From the day of establishment till now, the “Choreckshabti” literary society has been organizing weekly meeting –discussions; until now 201 meetings have already taken place.

Young people from different regions are included into the society; it has more than 200 members from Armenia, Artsakh and Russia.
Students from Ghana and Sudan also attend the “Choreckshabti” literary society; currently, they are the students of the international school in Dilijan.
