KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

The 50th anniversary of the Special Vocal-Choir School of Voice Protection has been celebrated at the Komitas Chamber Music House in Yerevan.

The conductor of the school's small choir is Kristine Khachikyan, Assistant Professor of the Chair of Music Education in ASPU. The latter is also a graduate of the Pedagogical University. She attaches great importance to university education in the development of choral art.

The professional school is the only one of its kind in Armenia. This very fact implies more responsibility in the work with children. In a conversation with www.old.aspu.am, Kristine Khachikyan said that pedagogical education and extensive teaching experience have helped her achieve success at work.

Gifted children attend the special school who later continue their studies in professional institutions, including the Pedagogical University. Kristine Khachikyan is glad to say that the very fact that such students apply to the Pedagogical University will contribute to the development of choral art in Armenia.

Kristine Khachikyan often invites her students to the school, in an attempt to introduce them to the skills and nuances of choral art.

Although the schoolchildren often perform concerts, Kristine Khachikyan wishes to organize their next concert at the Pedagogical University. After graduation, the schoolchildren will have a greater desire to work with choirs and will not hesitate in the university and career choice.
