KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Final certification examinations at Armenian State Pedagogical University are held in a new, electronic format.

Examination questions are selected by a special programme and answers are scored by computer, taking into account the score put by lecturers.

The examination is streamed live. The entire process is recorded which facilitates the exam score appeal.

The system created by final year students specializing in Informatics and developed by the lecturers of the Chair was first tested in three faculties of the University in 2016.

The effective, transparent and objective format is already applied in all the ten faculties of the University. This e-exam system minimizes the human factor and subjective attitude. The student knows the score immediately after his/her answer.

There are also innovations: academic papers are filled in automatically, the committee members cannot leave the exam room and avoid scoring students. This e-format of assessing students’ knowledge and skills is the only system in the country’s higher education.
