“Expectation is my daily alarm clock, longing is my everyday friend and prayer is my daily requirement and necessity…” This is part of the lifestyle led by Milena Barseghyan, a tenth-form pupil studying at the ASPU Base College.
Recently, she participated in an essay competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Science in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense. The competition entitled “A Letter to Soldiers” was announced on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Armenian Army.
Pupils from different schools participated in the essay competition. The results are already summed up and the winners are announced.
Milena Barseghyan was among the best 25 authors from various marzes (provinces). She was also among the five winners who participated in the festive concert held at the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan.
“I cannot describe my excitement and happiness. My letter was addressed to each and every soldier who keeps our borders impregnable. Each line is full of optimism, faith, hope and expectation of the soon-to-be-heard footsteps of brother-soldiers, who left their homes with longing in their eyes,” Milena Barseghyan said in conversation with old.aspu.am.
