A series of lectures at the Faculty of Special Education

A group of invited lecturers recently delivered a series of lectures at Armenian State Pedagogical University for students and professors of the Faculty of Special Education.

Zdenka Šándorová, a lecturer and researcher at the University of Pardubice, the Czech Republic, visited Armenia within the framework of the Erasmus exchange programme, a reciprocal exchange of students and academic staff throughout universities in the EEA. Within the framework of the same programme, four lecturers of the ASPU Faculty of Special Education are currently delivering lecturers at the University of Pardubice.

In her lectures, Zdenka Šándorová focused on early identification of problems of development and behaviour and the Czech experience in the special and inclusive education system.

Gail Whiteford, Australia’s first Pro Vice Chancellor of Social Inclusion, Advisor to the Australian Prime Minister, member of the Occupational Therapy Australia Research Foundation Committee, also delivered lecturers for the MA students.

She presented the principles and peculiarities of inclusive education in the higher education system, the education reforms in Australia and the importance of work in human life.

The lectures were followed by discussions and answer and question sessions. Also, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation with Gail Whiteford, specifically in the direction of publishing and translating textbooks of occupational therapy and inclusive education.
