On January 26, the ASPU Academic Board held its first meeting of the year which was presided over by Professor Srbuhi Gevorgyan, Chair of the Academic Board, Acting Rector of ASPU.
The acting rector presented the results of the work carried out in 2021 and spoke about the financial situation of the university which also depends on the number of students.
Further on, Srbuhi Gevorgyan presented the financial report of the university for the 2021 year, dynamics of cash inflows and outflows over a year's time, distribution of funds, total number of university students, particularly freshmen by year, as well as cash flow distributions and the 2022 budget estimates.
Given the results of financial activities, the acting rector assessed the previous year as positive, substantiating that the basis for that was the rise in tuition fees for some professions. “Summing up 2021, we can say that with a relatively smaller budget as compared to the budgets of previous years, we are financially stable and have significant savings," Srbuhi Gevorgyan added.
The Academic Board took note of the report on the work done in 2021 and on the 2022 budget estimates, and approved the list of the university staff members.
The acting rector particularly stressed that the university which will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary is presented in international scientific databases as a publisher with its three famous international journals and more than 350 citations. “Today, the journals WISDOM, which ranks 20th among Eastern European philosophy journals and 4th among journals in CIS countries, “Main Issues in Pedagogy and Psychology” and “Armenian Journal of Special Education” present the three main research directions of the university to the international community.
Later, the meeting participants watched a video telling more details about ASPU activities in 2021 which was made by the Information and Public Relations Department of the University.
According to tradition, at the end of the meeting the acting rector congratulated all ASPU representatives who have birthdays in January.
