The Pedagogical University continues its policy of expanding and deepening international relations.
As a result of cooperation with different higher education institutions abroad and within the framework of ongoing internationalization processes, lecturers and students of the University often do academic internships in various universities in Europe.
Within the framework of cooperation between ASPU, Zurich University of the Arts (Switzerland) and the Artas Foundation, Haykuhi Mukoyan and Naira Mkhitaryan, both lecturers of the Faculty of Art Education, and nine students of ASPU visited Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) from February 20 to March 5.
During the visit, the ASPU students majoring in fine arts, and decorative and applied arts got acquainted with the history and activity of ZHdK. Afterwards, with the help of Swiss lecturers, they gained knowledge and skills in teaching fine arts and their application in schools.
Taking into account the preferences of the students, group work was conducted with modern methods. Later, the group visited the Zurich gallery, where they performed an interactive analysis of pictures with the help of specialists.
Within the framework of the internship, ASPU representatives visited the high schools of Baden-Bülach, participated in several lessons and analyzed the process by using group methods.
Talking to old.aspu.am, Candidate of Sciences in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Haykuhi Mukoyan said that the Swiss education system is significantly different from the education systems that we know: it is characterized by active methods: group studies, research on projects, games, master classes, analyses and discussions.
The latter added that in Switzerland special attention is attached to the organization of teaching and learning processes: learning objectives, the entire process and expected learning outcomes which are followed by discussions, identification of strengths and weaknesses [of students] by educators.
Lecturer Naira Mkhitaryan added in turn that the visit to Switzerland was an important experience in terms of conducting research with new approaches in a learning environment equipped with the latest technologies and a wide range of opportunities and in terms of applying the knowledge in practice.
During the visit the ASPU lecturers delivered lectures, presented the Non-traditional techniques in drawing/illustration, as well as the history of Armenian carpet and rug weaving.
“In the frame of the Fashion Design discipline, a practical task was assigned to the group. The results will be summarized within the framework of a practical lesson with the students of our university," Naira Mkhitaryan added.
During the two-week visit to Switzerland, the ASPU delegates also visited the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, historical and cultural sites and participated in various cultural events.
Let us remind that cooperation between ASPU and ZHdK started in 2019. Within the framework of cooperation, lecturers and students of both universities have been doing internships in the partner university.
A group of students and lecturers from Switzerland are scheduled to visit the ASPU Faculty of Art Education from March 28 to April 8 to work on projects and visit schools in the framework of the Fine Arts discipline.
