"I am often asked, “Do you have any communication with Heaven? When you paint flowers, your brush strokes are never repeated.” And I answer, “I have never been to space; all you need to do is to love Nature and have enough skills to be able to artistically express what you perceive, and even more,” Professor Lems Nersisyan said during the exhibition of his paintings entitled “All My Flowers To You – My 100-year-old Alma Mater.”

Overall, 48 paintings by Prof. Lems Nersisyan, Doctor of Pedagogical Science, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia, were put on display, with 18 being created recently.

The author says, "I have been [working] in this educational centre for 51 years; all my creative and scientific educational achievements and success started from the Pedagogical University. Being a teacher is a cosmic concept; we are the one who teaches and educates the society. Even today, I am proud to stand here and address you during my solo exhibition. I can confidently tell future educators that they have chosen the best profession that teaches everyone," said Lems Nersisyan.
Welcoming the participants of the exhibition, ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan said that Professor Nersisyan's brush, colour palette and one of his favorite subjects - flowers, give warmth to the gloomy autumn day, convey a different mood irrespective of emotions, while the taste and elegance emphasize the unique role and merit of the Faculty of Art Education even more.

Alvard Grigoryan, Director of the ASPU Museum of History, says it is no accident that the one hundredth anniversary of the University is being celebrated with the exhibition of the artist’s works. "Let's give [one another] flowers that live on in the memory of many [of us]," she said.

“Professor Lems Nersisyan enriches the University with his very existence,” says Professor Hamlet Mikayelyan of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methodology. "His talent allowed him to depict a new world. He is restrained, kind and modest. These qualities are reflected in his works, where the colour and brightness contrast is extremely small,” Mr. Mikayelyan said. He added that Lems Nersisyan does not suppress Nature: the exhibited flowers are interwoven with Nature, as is typical of his temperament and spiritual world.

The exhibition will run until November 3.
