“Ani” vocal ensemble is a double-laureate

A few days ago, the “Ani” vocal ensemble of the ASPU Chair of Musical Pedagogy, with the Conductor, Assistant Susanna Petrosyan, won the first and the second prizes at the recently held international festival “Renaissance” and “Art Music” and was awarded the laureate title.

The aim of the 9th “Art Music” international art competition-festival is to discover and to introduce the public with creative and talented performers, to support their development and exchange experience in the given field of art. 16 teams from Armenia and abroad competed in the “Vocal Ensemble and Choir” nomination.

The international competition “Renaissance”, which was held in Gyumri this year, was dedicated to the centennial celebration of the First Republic of Armenia and the 10th anniversary of this festival. The festival aimed at introducing the foreign participants with the Armenian art and gave them the opportunity to present the specific features of their own national cultures, to create pre-conditions for the exchange of pedagogical experience in the sphere of art education. Likewise, the festival gave a chance to select a filed in art and to support the most talented and purposeful young people, to get the international participants familiarized with the historical and cultural heritage of Armenia.

Each nomination has international professional committee consisting of famous Armenian and foreign art critics. The ASPU “Ani” Vocal Ensemble performed Ed. Elbakyan’s “To Mantash” work in a capella version and B. Britten’s Gloria from missa Brevis in D dur piece at the nomination “Academic Singing”.

It is also particular, that the “Ani” vocal ensemble is only one year but is already the laureate of two international competitions –festivals.

And last but not least, the ensemble received an invitation from the organizers of the “Renaissance” festival to participate in their projected concerts.
