Anna Harutyunyan: A Confession of the Soul

Impressions, dreams and disappointments of a life rich in lyricism are conveyed through the emotional tone and content of songs and instrumental plays by Anna Harutyunyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Music.

Students and graduates of ASPU and Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan performed eight vocal and four instrumental compositions by Anna Harutyunyan during the concert presentation entitled "A Confession of the Soul" held at the ASPU on April 15. All the performed music pieces are included in the author’s music collections. The concertmaster was Suzan Petrosyan.
"Reveries of the Soul", "Suffering or Love", "Illusion", "Reflections", "Confession"… Anna Harutyunyan's works are based on the driving force in life - love in its various forms and manifestations.

"Dreams can change reality, while reveries just drive them away"… Throughout the concert, each composition was preceded by a preface. As Mary Karapetyan, a lecturer in Vocal Studies at the Chair of Music, said later it was done to convey a corresponding emotional mood to listeners.

Anna Harutyunyan's colleagues, music lovers, fans of her art and students were present at the concert-presentation entitled "A Confession of the Soul".

In a conversation with old.aspu.am, beloved singer and composer Edgar Gyanjumyan hailed Anna Harutyunyan's art, noting that her music is like her – it is kind, bright and helpful. "The musical composition performed today supplemented one another; I saw them in their entirety."

"Every beginning has an end”… Anna Harutyunyan accompanied the last part of a performance. At the end of the concert the audience watched a video entitled “Nvirum” (Dedication) dedicated to the Armenians who died during the 2020 war in Artsakh.

“Let's love one another. Life is too short, it is just a second. We should live in such a way that life becomes a beautiful prelude to eternity.” This was Anna Harutyunyan's farewell message to her listeners.
