Today, the solemn opening ceremony of intercollegiate championship of various female and male team sports was held in a cordial and festive atmosphere at the Pedagogical University.
For two weeks the teams of the ASPU 10 Faculties, the 57 school and the Base (High-school) College will compete for two weeks in already traditional intercollegiate championship in football volleyball, basketball, chess, table-tennis, and shooting sports.
The University Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan congratulated on the opening of the championship and wished the participants success, fair competition and victories.
“There is certain amount of responsibility on you, you should prove with your actions which one is the best faculty of the University”, said the Rector.
In his turn the Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports Smbat Lputyan considered the day as a celebration for everybody.
“It is great happiness when we see such excitement, joy and aspiration; these kinds of events, particularly team competitions, are very useful as in that case high values are being manifested such as unity, struggle, persistence, aspiration for victory. All these are done as a result of a common team work. Enjoy and appreciate this sports pleasure and its importance,” said Smbat Lputyan and expressed acknowledgements to the universities managements for continuously supporting the championship as well as to the SC President Nersik Margaryan for keeping the young people actives, dynamic and healthy.
To conclude, the SC President Nersik Margaryan, in his turn, congratulated the students for the opening of the intercollegiate games, and wished the participants strength and energy to best demonstrate themselves.
