An exhibition entitled “Armenia, My Native Land!” opened at the ASPU Scientific Library, with the first showcase - “Armenia, My Native Land: Javakhk!” - dedicated to Javakhk.
More than 500 scientific, artistic and popular science books dedicated to Javakhk and its people, as well as publications from pre-Soviet /1890-1914/ and Soviet periods and years of Armenia's independence are presented to public.
The oldest book put on display was published in 1892 and the newest in 2016.
The exhibition also presented books written by ASPU lecturers and graduates, as well as ten paintings by Professor Hamlet Mikaelyan - all devoted to Javakhk.
“The exhibition was officially opened 20 days ago. Every day, it is visited by some 1000 students,” said Tigran Petrosyants, who heads the ASPU Scientific Library.
He added that exhibitions of books and materials stored in the library repositories will be organized during the year dedicated to Nihichevan, Western Armenia and Artsakh.
