Today the delegation led by Elvira Simanyuk, Director of the Institute of Humanities at the Ural Federal University named after Boris Yeltsin, was on a visit to the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).
During the meeting, ASPU Vice-Rector for HR Management and International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan attached importance to the effective partnership of the educational institutions, particularly in the area of history. She also mentioned that the ASPU is ready to expand the scopes of cooperation.
Elvira Simanyuk remarked that psychology, philology and pedagogy are the sectors in which Ural Federal University plans to cooperate and added that the University anticipates the active participation of Armenian colleagues.
The Director of the Institute of Humanities talked about the activities of Ural Federal University, the achievements made in the area of neuropsychology, as well as the leading academic journals and repositories. She added that the University also anticipates the active participation of the Armenian State Pedagogical University in upcoming printing activities, scientific conferences, forums, symposia and training courses.
Elvira Simanyuk emphasized that the area of pedagogical education is also developing at the Institute, adding that the Institute is not behind the educational trends and is preparing to introduce Master’s Degree Programs in Digital Pedagogy and Cognitive Technologies. Here the Institute also attaches importance to the cooperation of specialists of both universities, as well as the joint studies and exchange of experience.
During the meeting, the partners also talked about the role of pedagogues, the change of profession and technologies and the need for introduction of new teaching methods.
Vice-Rector Marianna Harutyunyan noted that the ASPU is actively and effectively cooperating with a number of Russian universities and is ready to deepen partnership with Ural Federal University as well, engaging also students in the cooperation through the “Summer School” international program and other programs.
By the way, during the visit, the Russian delegates had meetings at the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology and the Faculty of Foreign Languages, as well as at the Chair of Theory and History of Pedagogy. The opportunities for cooperation and the implementation of joint programs were considered.
