The official closing ceremony of the annual inter-faculty championship organized by the initiative of the Student Council was held at the Pedagogical University; among those present at the ceremony were the University’s management, teaching staff and students.
As a result of a two-week persistent competition in football, volleyball, basketball, chess, table tennis and shooting, the ASPU Base College team was announced as winners with 17 points.
The team of the APSU Faculty of History and Law won the second prize with 10 points, and the team of the Faculty of Biology and Geography won the third prize with 8 points.
“The slogan of the Olympiad “The most important is participation!” is wise, genius and permanent. Despite the prizes I would like to congratulate all participants, and to wish the winning team even more success. The victory of the college is indeed great happiness for us; it once again proves that we have a serious future ahead”, mentioned Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan when awarding the winners’ Cup to the team, and expressed his desire to see most of the participants continuing their education at the Pedagogical University.
In his turn the Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports Smbat Lputyan noticed that the recent weeks had been a real sport celebration at the University filled with healthy competition, persistent struggle and beautiful victory.
The Head of the Chair looked forward to organizing events that would keep the students healthy and active more frequently as they contributed to having more attractive and exciting student days filled with competitive spirit.
“Before starting any work I think about victory; loosing is not for me”, the teacher of Physical Training of the ASPU Base College Arman Smbatyan mentioned in his interview to the old.aspu.am and confessed that he led the team members with the same principle.
The latter also added that in the previous year they had the second prize, while this year they had started training in September, created female and male teams, after which selected the best of the best and formed a competitive team.
The 12th grade student of the ASPU College, Journalism Flow Liana Melicksetyan considered the team’s unity as the key to her victory; they had continuously been supporting each other, and overcame the difficulties together.
What is more, the participation in the inter-faculty championship was important for the college student not only for the victory, but also for the professional orientation. As a result of communicating with the Pedagogical students she decided to spend her student year therein as well.
The winning teams, including the pupils of the ASPU School N57, received symbolic Cups and diplomas.
