Today, the annual “Best Student” Award was organized at the Pedagogical University, during which the best of the best students from 10 faculties were announced.
Among those present at the event were the RA NA President and the Chairman of the ASPU Board GalustSahakyan, the Coordinator of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Youth Foundation, the NA Deputy Karen Avagyan, the Rector of the University Rouben Mirzakhanyan, the Vice-Rectors, the teaching-professorial team, students and other guests.
“Our state encourages dynamic activities of young people in various directions, as it is education and the army that ensure the security of our state. And today, this initiative is not a mere event, it is a mission, and the “Best Student” is not just a title, it is a goal”, mentioned GalustSahakyan and highly praised the daily increasing progress of the Pedagogical University which is directly conditioned with the students.
In his turn, the Coordinator of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Youth Foundation congratulated on the World Youth Day and on the International Students Day and noticed that there can hardly be a country in the world which celebrates holidays for two continuous weeks involving a wide scope of young children. He also outlined the fact that it is the students of the Pedagogical University in particular that make the students’ life in Armenia more interesting.
During the celebration the best students from 10 faculties were presented with gifts, while the Best Student of 2015, the 1st year MA student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology GrigorKorkotyanwas awarded a trip to Spain.
In fact, it is the first time throughout the history of the University that a male student is the best student of the year.
The latter expressed his acknowledgements to the native university for granting opportunities for students to express themselves, their knowledge, capacities, to develop skills, and to pave professional roads.
“The best student must have a thirst for life, be cheerful, love people, and his/her profession”, the best student of the year confessed, and added that in this process the ASPU Student Council assisted him to a large extent.
We would also like to mention that the awards of the “Best Students” of Faculties were granted to SonaNavasardyan from the Faculty of Special Education, AstghikHakobyan from the Faculty of Primary Education, HmayakHarutyunyan from the Faculty of History and Law, ArpiAmiraghyan from the Faculty of Culture, AnahitArzumanyan is the best student of the Faculty of Art Education, AlinaPoghosyan of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Anna Sargsyan of the Philological Faculty, ElyaKhachatryan from the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, and Hamlet Galstyan from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.
The celebration continued with a concert programme with the performance of representatives of Armenian pop music RuzanAvetickyan, ZarouhiBabayan, SonaShahgeldyan, SonaRoubenyan, SevakAmroyan, VardanBadalyan, The Beautified Project, and the ASPU student VardanGalstyan.
