ASPU celebrates 70th anniversary of Professor Svetlana Marutyan

I sincerely loved people,
And I received endless love,
And what is more precious
Than to love and be loved?

Svetlana Marutyan, Professor at Armenian State Pedagogical University has been guided by this motto throughout her life. On the occasion of the Professor’s 70th anniversary, the Faculty of Primary Education and the Chair of Preschool Pedagogy and Methodology organized a joint event at the University.

Svetlana Marutyan’s colleagues and students of different years congratulated her on the occasion, wishing her robust health, success and new achievements.

ASPU Vice-Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan also joined the congratulations and wished Prof. Marutyan the ability to enjoy people's love for many years and realization of dreams and wishes. “A good mother, colleague and grandmother… She is always in harmony with different social statuses with her own calmness and wise silence,” the Vice-Rector said adding that Svetlana Marutyan has always been faithful to her principles.

In their speeches, the Professor’s colleagues emphasized her long-term scientific and pedagogical activity, her contribution to preschool education, while her students shared their memories connected with their lecturer.

“For a real intellectual the purpose of life is to strive to educate and furbish the souls of people. Few have been able to live and create, to education generations and to light lanterns of faith in their lives. With your creative and fruitful activity of a pedagogue, bight human image and virtuous national description you have become a dear and beloved person for our entire pedagogical community,” said Heghine Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education. She thanked the Professor for her fruitful work thanks to which the Chair of Preschool Pedagogy and Methodology has had great achievements.

Vladimir Karapetyan, Head of the Chair of Preschool Pedagogy and Methodology, also congratulated Svetlana Marutyan on her birthday and pointed out the three important qualities that characterize the Professor - exemplary family upbringing, child-centered and student-centered relations and an ability to create a warm atmosphere in the Chair.

Vladimir Karapetyan joined the wishes said on the occasion of the day and added that 'Svetlana Marutyan deserves more than we can give [her] today.'
“I was born at the right time and lived at the right time, having tangible achievements at all stages of my life,” 'Svetlana Marutyan said looking back at the 70 years in her life.

The grandmother of seven grandchildren considers the ASPU to be her second home and family and takes pride to have spent over 50 years at the University. During those years she has authored textbooks, methodological manuals, and programs, but she continues to looks ahead and speaks about new plans.

“I attach importance to love in human relationship and I like people very much,” she said promising to live and create with the same love and warmth.
The choir of the Faculty of Primary Education and pupils of Kindergarten N5 congratulated the Professor with their performances during the event.
