A group of lecturers of the Faculty of Special Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University are at the University of Minnesota, USA, for a working visit.
A textbook on Inclusive Education is being compiled within the framework of cooperation launched between the sides in 2016. The Armenian-language methodological manual will serve students and professionals working in the field of education.
In this context, the sides are also reviewing the curriculum, modules and content of Inclusive Education which is taught by lecturers of the Faculty of Special Education. Thematic guides and webinars are also being developed, which will be posted on the official websites of the University of Minnesota and the ASPU.
During the visit, the Armenian delegation met with Robyn Widley, Director of the Special Education Division at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the staff of the Division. During the roundtable discussion, the Armenian side presented the peculiarities of the educational system in Armenia, the state of inclusive education in the country and ASPU’s unique role in that context. The American side hailed the ongoing reforms in the educational sphere in Armenia and the role of ASPU.
