ASPU Delegation at the Catholic University of Péter Pázmány

On 13- 17 December, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project the ASPU Dean of the Faculty of History and Sociology, Associate Professor Edgar Hovhannisyan, Deputy Dean Professor Samvel Poghosyan, and the Head of the Chair of Work History and its Teaching Methods Professor Khachatur Stepanyan presented a series of lectures at the Chair of Armenian Studies of the Catholic University of Péter Pázmány in Budapest. The presenters delivered lectures on the topics of “Process of Transition from Colony into Diaspora”, “The Armenian Genocide: Process and Consequences”, “Sovietisation of Transcaucasia”, which raised major interest among Armenian and Hungarian students.

The lectures were followed by meeting-discussions, during which establishing closer relations with around thirty Armenian students studying in Hungarian Universities, as well as forming Armenian students’ union, and many other matters were discussed.

Besides, in order to discuss continuation and strengthening of further cooperation between the Universities, meetings were arranged between the Head of the Central Office of Foreign Affairs of the Catholic University of Péter Pázmány Richard Somorjai-Dörflein and the Erasmus+ Coordinator Henrietta Novak.
Summing up, we would like to remind that a bilateral agreement was signed between the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan and the Catholic University of Péter Pázmány of Budapest in 2016 within the scope of which the Chair of Armenian Studies officially opened at this University.
