The intercollegiate student sports games have launched; The Pedagogical University’s volleyball, basketball, table-tennis chess and shooting teams participate in the games.
With maximum point the ASPU Female Chess team won the 1st honorary prize in the intercollegiate student sports games. The team members Maria Gevorgyan and Sofa Torosyan particularly had victory on all play- boards.
The Rector of the Pedagogical University Rouben Mirzakhanyan supported the team members that brought victory in chess to the University and wished them new success and achievements.
The Deputy Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports Arman Gevorgyan mentioned during his interview to the old.aspu.am that once again this victory proved that the game of mind was on strong and good basis at the University.
“It was much easier to form the female chess team as it is very popular at the University. Interest towards this wise game has multiplied especially after the Institute of Chess was opened”, mentioned Mr. Arman Gevorgyan and assured that the Chess had a particularly important role for pedagogues since it developed human thinking, logic and memory.
