The 2nd student conference entitled "Psychological Research" was held at ASPU on May 10.
A group of students from ASPU, Yerevan State University (YSU), Urartu University, Gyumri branch of the European University of Armenia, Shirak State University after M. Nalbandyan participated in the event organized by the Chair of Psychology after Academician Mkrtich Mazmanyan.
Welcoming the participants ASPU Vice-Rector for Education and Science Mariam Ispiryan said each conference is a unique test for both students and professors.
She especially emphasized the importance of cooperation which enables students of partner universities to participate in the scientific conference to jointly discover the things to be done in science.
"On the way to becoming a research university, we attach importance to such initiatives, as well as to students’ participation in them. We do realize that in order to have an effective and right change of generation in science, we need to be able to guide you in the right direction," the vice-rector said adding that the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology always organizes and participates in scientific events.
Ruzanna Petrosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, added in turn that a platform has been created where, under the guidance of the Faculty staff, students can present their viewpoints on the important task of conducting scientific research.
“Psychological research is interesting; it has something to say about the present and the future. Such conferences are a good platform where you can get to know the difficult path to knowledge and assess your strengths in psychological research," Ruzanna Petrosyan stressed wishing the participants productive activity.
Levon Sargsyan, Head of the Chair of Psychology after Academician Mkrtich Mazmanyan, also emphasized the importance of the annual conference saying it enables students to conduct research on current issues in psychology while taking undergraduate and master's programs.
He added that the existing problems and challenges of development of science in the modern world need to be proven by research, so that the given branch of science is supplemented with innovations.
At the same time, Mr. Sargsyan is sure that the participation of students from other universities will break down barriers, creating a platform for thinking psychology students.
In their reports, the participants addressed a number of issues in psychology, presenting their relevance, the purpose of the research, hypothesis, existing problems, as well as methods and results of the research.
The speeches were followed by an interesting discussion after which the participants received certificates.
