“No one can bring back all those whom I have lost. I will miss the generation of immortals. My homeland is a land of losses and mourning… My homeland is endlessly waiting for someone…” These words belong to Ruzanna Margaryan, a second-year student of the Department of Clothing Design.
The presentation of Ruzanna Margaryan’s book “Put your hand on your heart: I am there” took place in the Faculty of Culture on March 28. The book was published at the end of 2022. The author says it is like a dream that has come true. The event was attended by participants of the Artsakh war, parents and relatives of fallen soldiers, professors, and students.
The event was unique as it was both a presentation and a tribute to the fallen heroes and all those who returned home from the war. All speeches were dedicated to Armenian soldiers, homeland, love and peace promise.
Ruzanna Margaryan started writing after the 44-day war in Artsakh in 2020. She started putting her feelings and emotions, as well as the stories about the war heroes which she heard from parents and family members down on paper.
The student published the stories compiled in two years on her own, showing everyone that she is carrying out her mission by contributing to the immortalization of fallen heroes. The future fashion designer is sure that her profession can also help perpetuate their names: she has decided to open centers and studios and name them after the heroes.
Ruzanna Margaryan hopes that every reader may find in the pages of the book the gap that needs to be filled by him with his daily work. "Dear readers, remember that you are ARMENIAN. Only the strong ones are born Armenians... the word “struggle” has been engraved forever on Armenians’ foreheads."
