On March 15, Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted Anapat Artabana, who was accompanied by Manuk Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, and Ara Ispiryan, Acting Director of the Assessment and Testing Center (ATC).
The guests visited the ASPU Museum and the Center for Educational Research in Chess.
Anapat Artabana was also received by ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan who presented the guest the three-tier educational system in Armenia, the international cooperation of the University and teaching of foreign languages at ASPU.
The deputy minister of Turkmenistan was especially interested in the Armenian experience of teaching chess and foreign languages.
Ruben Mirzakhanyan stressed once again that chess has become the ‘brand’ of the country’s educational system and assured the guest that we have a great experience in it which arouses great interest in other countries.
During the meeting, the ASPU rector also referred to peculiarities of teaching foreign students in other languages and added that foreign language teaching is one of the priorities of the Pedagogical University.
The visit was arranged within the framework of the 8th session of the Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan said the sides are supposed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future, with a special emphasis on the cooperation between the pedagogical educational institutions of the two countries in question.
