ASPU hosts Japanese Specialists

The Faculty of Art Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University received Hiro Kansha, a researcher at the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Mie Ishii, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Regional Design of the Saga National University, Midori Yakumo, a lecturer at the NHK Bunka Centre, and accompanying guests. The Dean of the Faculty, together with the heads and lecturers of Chairs, presented the structure of the Faculty and the educational process to the guests. The visitors were taken to the studios of painting and decorative applied art, got acquainted with the works of ASPU students.

The Japanese specialists shared their positive opinions and expressed hope that they would explore new avenues for cooperation with the Pedagogical University.

As a result of discussions, the sides decided to collaborate within the framework of faculty and student exchange programmes, supervision of joint graduate works and in other areas.

The guests arrived in Armenia to participate in the seminar entitled “Textile Art and Conservation: Knotting the Past and Present” organized by the Armenian Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties within the framework of an Armenian-Japanese joint project.
