At the initiative of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted Professor Claude Leroy and Dr. Yevgenya Pashayan-Leroy from the University of Burgundy (Université de Bourgogne) which is situated in the city of Dijon in the eastern part of France.
The guests presented the academic and teaching staff, PhD and other students information concerning Master’s programmes in Physics, Photonics & Nanotechnology (PPN) and other Master's programmes offered by the University of Burgundy.
The seminar by the visiting lecturers was held within the framework of cooperation between the Armenian and French universities. During the event, the guests also introduced the University of Burgundy, Master’s and PhD programmes offered by the same University and provided detailed information about opportunities and scholarships offered to students.
The French guests highlighted collaboration between Armenia and France in the sphere of education, noting that they have been cooperating with the Institute for Physical Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia since 2006 and have co-supervised the research works of Armenian students: today many of them work in various European universities.
“The results are really impressive. Every year we deal with new MA and PhD students, and all of them successfully defend their theses. The best works are published in leading journals,” Prof. Claude Leroy mentioned in conversation with old.aspu.am.
The seminar was in English. Active discussions were held during the seminar, which were followed by a question and answer session. Thus, the students had an opportunity ‘to be integrated’ into the European education system.
Some of the students have already applied for various programmes and in the case of a positive answer, they will be able to combine study in France and in Armenia.
