On February 10, ASPU hosted Sergey Myskin, Doctor of Philology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Professor of the Moscow City Pedagogical University (MSPU).
The professor gave a public lecture on "Language and Personality" focusing on issues of psycholinguistics.
Sergey Myskin is ‘in love with’ psycholinguistics and continues to ‘discover the field’ for himself. The field of study, which seems narrow and extremely mysterious at first glance, has over time turned into a science for the professor, enriching his knowledge of psychology. “We turn into human beings when we start to speak," Professor Myskin said and added that this was the main reason for his decision to devote a significant part of his scientific activity to the study of psycholinguistics.
Sergey Myskin also spoke about the problems of ‘a speaking person’ saying it is no accident that ‘a speaking person’ is the focus of attention of various sciences, including pedagogy. “Psycholinguistics studies the interrelation between speech and thoughts, within the framework of which various researches are conducted," he added.
During the lecture, the MSPU professor presented the main directions, areas and results of the research conducted on the topic. Let us add that the professor is also a member of the editorial board of the "Psychological Problems" journal published by ASPU.
During his visit to ASPU, Sergey Myskin had a working meeting with ASPU Rector Srbuhi Gevorgyan. The parties discussed avenues for cooperation in science, opportunities to publish joint articles in scientific journals, and issues related to partnership.
