ASPU hosts pupils of Gevorg Emin High School #182

The Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods after V. Partizuni at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted the 10th graders of Gevorg Emin High School #182, who are working on the project called “Khachatur Abovyan: The Unknown Pages”.

Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Ashot Galstyan; Head of the Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods, Director of “Spyurk” Scientific-Educational Centre, Professor Suren Danielyan and Associate Professors of the Chair, Naira Khachatryan and Knarik Abrahamyan, were attending the meeting.

Ashot Galstyan presented the principles of project work and its importance in the general education criterion, emphasizing the fact that it helps develop pupils’ capabilities in research.

Speaker Naira Khachatryan also touched upon the life of Abovyan, the unknown pages in his family story, the principles of having a historical understanding of character and answered the pupils’ questions.

During the visit, the pupils were also introduced to the daily activities and reading hall of the ASPU “Spyurk” Scientific-Educational Centre.

The meeting ended with a speech by Professor Suren Danielyan and teacher of Armenian language and literature Meri Khachatryan, who, as a matter of fact, is an alumna of the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Danielyan and Khachatryan attached importance to the pupils’ interest in the greats of Armenian literature and voiced hope that the pupils for whom the works of Abovyan are important, will go on to choose the path of becoming philologists or teachers.
