KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

On February 12, Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted singer and songwriter Sevak Khanaghyan. The meeting with the singer was initiated by the ASPU Student Council.

During the meeting which was held in a question-and-answer format, the young people asked the singer different questions ranging from his participation in the second series of Depi Evratesil (the Armenian selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018) to his new songs and future plans.

“I would not participate, if I did not have the determination to win. I will do my best to win,” Sevak Khanaghyan said when speaking about the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. He added that in case he was selected as Armenia’s entrant in the song contest he would try to present his country on international platforms through an Armenian-language song in an attempt to prove that music does not know language and nationality.

The singer says soul, cleanliness and sincerity are the most important things in a song which reach the audience and make people love the singer. The song becomes successful when you put feelings and mood in it, he added.

“No matter where I live and what I do, I am always proud of my Armenian roots. Armenians and Armenia have a special place in my life,” the singer said. He also spoke about his preferences, creative aspirations, goals and objectives.

Speaking about his participation in the "Voice of Armenia" project, Sevak Khanaghyan assured everyone that it is much easier to be a participant than a member of the jury. When you are a jury member, you feel responsible for the future path of each participant.

Sevak Khanaghyan assured his fans that he had passed many difficulties on his way to success. Everything was achieved only through diligent and painstaking work. “The desire to have more fans multiplied my efforts and increased the sense of responsibility.”

The singer confessed that he always enjoys communicating with youth people whose positive energy recharges him. In the end, he sang one of the favorite songs of his fans and posed for photos.
