A memorandum of cooperation (MoC) has been signed between Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and the Institute of Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. The document was signed by Gagik Demirkhanyan, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, and Lilit Dashtoyan, Director of the Institute of Mechanics.
Taking into account the challenges and problems in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and information and communication technologies (ICT), the two structures in question will carry out joint research, scientific and pedagogical activities, and organize theoretical and practical courses. The aim is to introduce university students to the issues in mechanics, arouse interest in applied studies and research, and engage the most capable and promising students in research activities.
Within the framework of the MoC, counseling will be provided for writing bachelor's and master's theses. Also, students will participate in experimental research and other projects.
The idea of cooperation belongs to Lusine Ghulghazaryan, Head of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methods.
The parties emphasized the importance of cooperation and voiced hope that it will enable future teachers to better understand the connection between education and science.
