ASPU Lecturer Participated in International Programmes

The ASPU Lecturer of the Department of Museology, Library Studies and Bibliography Davit Poghosyan had an active participation in various international programmes organized in Germany and India within the scope of an international programme held at the British Museum.

 By the invitation of the prestigious “Dresden State Art Collection” organization, Davit Poghosyan visited Leipzig and was involved in a short –term grant project headed “The Researcher of Dresden” in Grasse Ethnic Museums. This is an annual exchange project where Armenia shows its participation for the first time.

 Together with the Coordinator of Cultural Programmes of the Museum Christine Fischer the Lecturer of the Pedagogical University participated in a number of cultural and educational projects, accompanied by various coordinators, got familiar with the exhibition, and the activities of the educational section of the Museum.

  In addition, within the scope of the project a visit was arranged to Dresden, where meetings were organized with various representatives of the unit of the organization dealing with museums, as well as sightseeing tours were conducted to a number of world famous art museums in Dresden.

  As a result, the outcomes of discussions were submitted to the management of the museum, based on which continuation of study visits and strengthening of cooperative links was further foreseen.

 From 19-22 November, the British Museum solemnly celebrated the 10th anniversary of its international training programme and organized a two-day workshop  on the topic of “Creation of World History Museums” in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in the city of Mumbai in India.

 Delegations from 20 countries participated in the workshop, during which Davit Poghosyan was actively involved in the discussions of a new concept paper on demonstration of “universal” or “encyclopaedic” museums activities, presented his personal points of view, and had meetings with different specialists of the field.

To sum up, in his interview to the old.aspu.am Davit Poghosyan assured that the obtained experience and the professional material are in the stage of development and coordination, which will be later on used in the process of training of professionals in Museology.
