ASPU lecturer wins first prize in international music competition

Arusyak Kostanyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Music Pedagogy/Education of the Faculty of Art Education, recently participated in the international competition of scientific, educational-methodical and creative-pedagogical projects “Music Education-XXI”.

Arusyak Kostanyan's work entitled "Piano Transpositions of Songs by Armenian Composers: Methodological Instructions" was awarded the first prize in the "Instrumentation, Transcription and Transposition" category by the jury.

About 54 specialists from various educational institutions participated in the competition, who presented scientific, educational-methodical and musical-creative works, including projects with traditional and modern multimedia technology.

During the competition, the participants presented a number of works on various themes, including "Music", "World Artistic Culture", "Theory of Music", "History of Music", "Music Informatics", "Music Pedagogy", "Solfeggio", "Instrumental Performance", "Choir Singing", "Vocal", " Folk Art" and others.

In a conversation with old.aspu.am, Arusyak Kostanyan said the victory does not belong only to her. While creating the work "Piano Transpositions of Songs by Armenian Composers: Methodological Instructions," which includes piano arrangements of the most popular and favourite songs of Armenian composers and songwriters, she followed the advice and tips of her fellow colleagues.

The ASPU lecturer stressed the importance of the competition also in terms of holding mutual concerts and lectures within the framework of cooperation with Herzen State Pedagogical University of St. Petersburg.
