Every year, the International Committee for University Museums and Collections (UMAC) of the UNESCO-affiliated International Council of Museums (ICOM) organizes an award-giving ceremony for university museums. The move is aimed at boosting the activity of university museums and giving them new opportunities for growth and development.
The History Museum of Armenian State Pedagogical University submitted a bid for the 2016 ceremony. The Museum presented its programmes created with new technologies, results and effectiveness of their implementation.
Winners became the National Museum of Singapore with the programme “Preparation room: What is possible or impossible to happen” and the
University of Manchester with the progarmme “Learning at Manchester Museum.”
The other eight participants, including the ASPU Museum came up with innovative ideas, showing commitment and dedication to their work. UMAC highly appreciated the participation of all museums and their contribution to the development of the sector, assuring them that they will assist in development and dissemination of programmes and ideas presented during the event by the participant museums.
