The cooperation between the Faculty of Philology at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Basic School #2 in the city of Abovyan continues, and this time it was prominent Armenian poet Paruyr Sevak who brought the two educational institutions together.

The event, which was dedicated to the great Armenian, was organized by ASPU alumnus, teacher of Armenian language and literature Anushik Kirakosyan; middle grade students and the School’s Principal Artur Tashchyan, was entitled “The Past Turned into the Present” and featured recitation of poems, performances of songs, a play and a study (all part of one event).

“The works of Paruyr Sevak are part of the Armenian nation’s wealth. He lives on so long as his immortal songs are performed by pupils,” Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor Naira Khachatryan stated at the end of the event. Khachatryan also delivered a lecture that was a part of the event.

In his speech, Dean of the ASPU Faculty of Philology, Professor Ashot Galstyan underscored the importance of the school-university cooperation and voiced hope that the reciprocal visits would be ongoing.
