A few days ago, an international scientific and practical conference on the “Nuremberg trials: A Glance Through Time” was organized in Volgograd under the initiative of the regional administrative unit, the RF General Prosecutor’s Office and a number of universities.
Among those participating in the conference was the Head of Department of Development and Applied Psychology, Professor Samvel Khoudoyan.
The opening ceremony of the Conference was held at the memorial of “Stalingrad battle”, after which the participants of the conference continued their work in groups and participated in round table discussions organized by various universities of Volgograd.
On this occasion, the ASPU professor presented a report at the Social-Pedagogical University; the topic of the report was “Subject of the Genocide during the Nuremberg Trial; peculiarities of this Genocide, psychological features of its condemnation and amnesty”, where he made a reference to the historical memory and stress of the nation that suffered from the Genocide, the psychology of the process of forgiveness, the feeling of guilt and its forms of manifestation.
“The main idea of the report is that it was with the Nuremberg trial that the humanity stepped into a new stage of moral upgrade, and in that situation aggression and genocide were already unacceptable”, the professor highlighted in his interview to the old.aspu.am.
What is more, within the scope of the visit the latter discussed with the foreign colleagues about the cooperation edges with the Pedagogical University, participated in the opening of the psychology week and delivered a lecture at the academy.
To conclude, the Professor had meetings with the Rector of the Academy Mikhail Vershinin, the Vice-Rector, the Head of the Department of Philosophy Olga Baydalova and the Head of the Psychology Irina Kirilova.
