It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Sergey Nersisyan, Acting Professor at the Chair of Physics and its Teaching Methods at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), Candidate of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics.
Sergey Nersisyan graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Yerevan State University (YSU) in 1970․ He was immediately hired by the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory where he worked as a researcher until 2001.
Mr. Nersisyan joined ASPU in 2001. For many years, he educated and equipped many generations of future educators with professional knowledge, passing on to them his rich experience and knowledge on the fundamentals of General Astronomy, Radio Astronomy, Modern Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Astronautics.
Sergey Nersisyan is the author of about 42 research handbooks and education manuals and one textbook.
ASPU expresses its deepest condolences to the pedagogue's relatives, friends, colleagues and students. Sergey Nersisyan was respected and beloved by his colleagues and students.
The farewell service for Sergey Nersisyan will be held at the “Gor” funeral hall at 37 Silikyan Old Highway, Yerevan, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., October 16. The funeral service starts at 2p.m. on October 17.
