ASPU Professor visits North-Caucasus Federal University

On May 17-20, Prof. Khachatur Stepanyan, Head of the Chair of World History and its Teaching Methods, Doctor of History, visited the North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) in Russia to attend an international conference.

During the conference entitled "Battle for the Caucasus in the Fate of the Peoples of the USSR", he presented a report on “Reflection of the Battle for the Caucasus in the Diaspora Armenian Press (1942-1943)".

During the visit, the ASPU Professor had working meetings with Nikita Avralev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at NCFU, Liudmila Ermolenko, Vice-Rector for the Humanities Institute of the same university, Prof. Igor Kryuchkov, Head of the Chair of Foreign History, Political Science and International Relations, and Prof. Marina Kolesnikova, Head of the Chair of Russian History.

During the visits, representatives of the universities have reached an agreement on expanding partnership between the two educational institutions.

The parties discussed joint scientific and educational programme, specifically Master’s degree programmes and opportunities for opening an international lab for history teaching methods and creating a textbook on the history of World War II.

While at NCFU, Khachatur Stepanyan delivered a lecture (“The Karabakh Issue and the Soviet Government in 1920-1923”) for students of the Institute of Humanities of the North-Caucasus Federal University.
