KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

From February 15 to 17, Acting Head of the Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods named after Vache Partizuni at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), Director of the “Spyurk” Scientific-Educational Centre Suren Danielyan was on a visit to Beirut.

The Professor attended the presentation of the book “Armenian Ethnographic Images: Vision, Will and Hope” by theologian, General Secretary of the Bible Society of the Arab Gulf countries, Dr. Hrayr Jebejian.

Suren Danielyan, along with Hrayr and Arda Jebejians, also visited His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. During the meeting, the parties talked about the current state in Armenia, Armenia-Diaspora relations and the challenges in terms of literature and culture.

Suren Danielyan gifted His Holiness his book entitled “Issues in the Creations of Oshakan: Commentary and “Details”.

During the meeting, the ASPU Professor also met with Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon, Archbishop Shahe Panossian and was hosted at the editorial office of Aztag Armenian Daily where he had a meeting with Editor Shahan Kandaharian.

Danielyan and Kantaharian talked about the activities of “Spyurk” Scientific-Educational Centre, the current state of Armenian literature in the Diaspora, preservation of Western Armenian language, the presses issuing newspapers in Western Armenian and the role of Aztag Armenian Daily.
