ASPU Rector participates in international scientific-practical conference

Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, Professor Srbuhi Gevorgyan today participated in the 4th International Scientific-Practical Conference (“Current Issues of Ensuring Inclusive Education in the Russian Federation”) online.

The Deputy Minister of Enlightenment of the Russian Federation, heads of educational institutions, representatives of the academic community, pedagogues, lecturers, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and the parent community also participated in the academic event held at the initiative of Moscow State Pedagogical-Psychological University.

Attaching importance to the conference, Rector Gevorgyan voiced hope that the experience that the participants have gained in the special education sector, the analysis of the problems and the areas for research in science and practice will be fruitful.

Gevorgyan emphasized that the special education sector implies acquisition of knowledge and skills and precise organization of the educational process jointly with persons with special needs, regardless of the needs. “The special education sector has to serve as an opportunity for persons with special needs to collaborate with both academic circles and wider circles, as well as become integrated into society and enhance social and communication skills. In this stage, it implies reforms in pre-school institutions, schools and educational institutions which will provide the opportunity to meet everyone’s needs, without exceptions. The educational process has to be structured on the basis of meeting the needs for the development of children,” Professor Gevorgyan stated and voiced hope that the three-day conference will help give answers to a number of questions.

Designing the inclusive education system as a precondition for quality education, the problems with modeling of inclusivity at different levels of education and the inclusivity of society as an academic justification for the best practice were discussed during the 4th International Scientific-Practical Conference entitled “Current Issues of Ensuring Inclusive Education in the Russian Federation”.

In addition, the participants also touched upon the preparation of specialists in the inclusive education sector and the environment for inclusive education (assessment criteria, modeling, development projects, etc.).
