ASPU representatives attend seminar-discussion

A few days ago, Head of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methods at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), Professor Lusine Ghulghazaryan; Associate Professor Angela Minasyan and Aghavni Grigoryan attended the annual “Digitized Mathematics: Bridge between Basic Schools and High Schools” seminar-discussion.

This year, the inter-community event — organized by the Mathematics and Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) group of Karen Demirtchyan High School #139 in Yerevan — was held under the title “New Criteria as an Educational Challenge”.

Among other participants of the seminar were the mathematics and DLCS teachers of the basic and high schools of the community. They delivered their speeches, which were followed by discussions and proposals.

ASPU Professor Lusine Ghulghazaryan touched upon the role QR codes in new textbooks and its risks, advantages and disadvantages in the learning process.

The new format for assessment of 10th graders, as well as the structure and substance of the “Algebra” and “Geometry” textbooks were also touched upon during the seminar-discussion. In this context, Associate Professor Anzhela Minasyan shared her observations regarding the elements of the theory of probability in the Algebra textbook. The importance of including design works in the new criteria was also considered.

ASPU Associate Professor Aghavni Grigoryan introduced the teachers to the new criteria for organizing and conducting design works and the new learning methodology according to the new criterion.

There were proposals regarding the current issues, and a group of teachers who are ready to cooperate, was set up.
