ASPU representatives participate in kickoff meeting of DeSIRe project

The kickoff meeting of the Development of Soft Skills at Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Georgia in Compliance with the 21st Century Labour Market Requirements (DeSIRe) project, which is being carried out within the scope of the Erasmus+ Program, took place on February 27.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the partner universities from Armenia, Georgia and Europe, including Marianna Harutyunyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Human Resources and International Cooperation, and Gohar Arakelyan, a representative of the Center for International Cooperation and Project Management.

The DeSIRe project aims to promote the development of national education systems in Armenia and Georgia, with the primary focus on soft skills-based teaching and learning methods, strategies and technologies. It also aims to boost the career prospects of students by increasing the quality of academic knowledge and skills, to promote competitiveness and entrepreneurial skills in compliance with the 21st century labour market requirements.
In his speech, Rustam Sahakyan, Rector of Vanadzor State University which is the coordinator of the DeSIRe project, wished the participants of the project productive work.

He thanked the participants for bringing the important initiative to life, for investing their professional potential in the project and for getting involved in the important mission of complying university education with the demands of the labour market.

The official ceremony was followed by a workshop, with the partner structures of the DeSIRe project presenting their work packages in a hybrid format. The speeches were followed by a Q&A session.
