KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

A few days ago, the lecturers and PhD students of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methods at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) participated in the 2nd “Gradient” international online scientific conference for math teachers and researchers.

The event was organized by Moscow State Pedagogical University, with which the ASPU has a longstanding collaboration.

During the scientific conference, Head of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methods, Professor Lusine Ghulghazaryan; Associate Professor Varazdat Vardazaryan and lecturer-method expert Aghavni Grigoryan presented the discrete random variables taught in high school and the key issues of the methods for teaching the numerical characteristics of those variable in accordance with the new subject-specific criteria in Armenia.

Professor Gurgen Ghulghazaryan touched upon the definitions, characteristics and applications of convexity and concavity of function in the university course on mathematical analysis, Professor Samvel Harutyunyan touched upon the “Report on the New 7th Grade Geometry Textbook in General Education Schools” in accordance with the new subject-specific criteria, while PhD student Sabina Gasparyan presented the application of signs of periodicity of function in high school.

During an active discussion, an agreement was reached on active cooperation, exchange of experience and conduct of joint research between lecturers of the Chair of Mathematics and its Teaching Methods at the Armenian State Pedagogical University and of the Institute for Digital Education of the Mathematics and Physics Unit at Moscow State Pedagogical University.
