ASPU representatives participate in “Sorokin Readings 2018”

The 12th international scientific conference entitled “Sorokin Readings 2018: Social Injustices in Social Dimensions: Challenges of the Contemporary World” was held at the Faculty of Sociology of Lomonosov Moscow State University on 19-20 February. 

This year, the international conference, held since 2007 on the occasion of World Day of Social Justice, was dedicated to sociological analyses of social justice and injustice.

The conference featured sociologists and representatives of the sector from Israel, Germany, France and the CIS countries.

Professor Armen Sahakyan, Doctor of Sociology, Head of the Chair of Sociology and Social Work at the ASPU Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology represented the University at the conference. Gohar Mkoyan, Candidate of Sociological Science, and lecturer of the same Chair, represented the University on an online platform.

Professor Armen Sahakyan made a report on “Socio-cultural Values in the Scientific Theories of P. Sorokin and D. Anhaght (Davit the Invincible)”.

Professor N. G. Osipova, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of the Russian university, stressed the importance of the report, adding that it presented modern approaches to issues in Sociology.

The professor expressed confidence that it would become basis for scientific and pedagogical cooperation between the two universities in question, help students in their scientific research and expand business ties.
