KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

From 19 to 23 February, over 25 delegates from Armenia, among them students of Armenian State Pedagogical University, American University of Armenia, Shirak State University, Vanadzor State University, Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, Ministry of Education and Science, National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility participated in a training course at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) within the “Boosting Strategy and Marketing for Internationalization of Armenian Universities” /BOOST/ project of the Erasmus+ CBHE (Capacity Building Higher Education) project.

ASPU was represented by Ara Yeramyan, Vice-Rector of Personnel and International Cooperation, Kristina Tsaturyan, Head of International Cooperation Unit, Gohar Arakelyan, a specialist of the same unit, and Anush Sargsyan, Head of E-learning Department.

The training was aimed at developing participants’ skills and abilities for elaborating a strategic plan of internationalization. The participants had an opportunity to learn mechanisms of elaborating a strategic plan of internationalization, procedures and methods. During the interactive training, the participants performed group work. At the end of the training, each university presented the schedule of elaborating a strategic plan for internationalization developed by the representatives of the given university.

Kristina Tsaturyan, Head of International Cooperation Unit, also presented the preliminary version of a national strategic plan for internationalization elaborated by the working group of the project.

The training was followed by a coordination meeting during which the participants discussed the project outcomes and achievements, as well as the scope of future actions.
The trained participants will conduct similar training for Armenian participants after returning to the country.

Let us remind that objective of the project is to foster and promote further internationalization of Armenian Higher Education through development of national and institutional policy framework and tools. The coordinator of the project is ASPU.
