The teaching materials and methodological works of Anna Harutyunyan, Head of the Chair of Music Pedagogy at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), a music theorist and Shake Hovhannisyan have been recognized the best during the competition held within the framework of the first nationwide solfeggio Olympiad titled “Paytporik” (Woodpecker).
The Olympiad, held for the first time with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and on the initiative of Sayat-Nova Music School, was a review-competition in solfeggio - one of the most important areas of artistic education. It was held in two rounds: in the regions and in Yerevan.
The competition was aimed at promoting solfeggio as a core component of arts education, improving the quality of its teaching, popularizing advanced pedagogical experiences, forming a database of the best teaching methods, encouraging the activity of specialists in the field.
Within the framework of the Olympiad, a competition for the best methodological manual for teaching solfeggio was also announced, which focused on solfeggio a core component of arts education and on innovative or original method of teaching the following courses: "Intonation Exercises and Music Reading in a Solfeggio Course", "Theoretical Knowledge (Musical Literacy) as an Important Component of a Solfeggio Course", "Development of Rhythm Sensation.”
Seven participants applied to participate in the competition. The methodological works of the musician-theorists, which were recognized the best by the decision of the professional jury and awarded a monetary prize, are written for music and art schools.
Talking to old.aspu.am Anna Harutyunyan said brochures with their works will be sent to music and art schools of the country.
