The next item on the agenda (results of final certification exams for graduates of the ASPU) was presented by Vice-Rector for Education and Science Naira Safaryan. The Vice-Rector talked about the progress of the final certification exams for the full-time and distance-learning graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree Program and the full-time graduates of the Master’s Degree Program held through 47 vocational education programs at the ASPU in the period between June 15 and July 15, the comments and considerations, and, taking into account the comments and suggestions of the chairpersons of commissions, drew the attention of the Scientific Council’s members to a number of key issues.

As a matter of fact, 1,653 graduates participated in the final certification for the 2024-25 Academic Year.

“The compliance of the graduation works and Master’s theses — part of the final certification exams for 17 graduates from 25 teacher education programs — with the requirements for organizing, conducting and assessing the graduation works of Bachelor’s Degree students and the preparation and assessment of Master’s theses at the ASPU, were studied. Attention was paid to the modernity of the selected topics; the compliance of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the contents of topics and works with the relevant levels of the NQF and the vocational education programs; a student’s skills in conducting independent research, processing data and drawing reasoned conclusions, making arguments, presenting oneself and the verbal skills in vocational pedagogy; the positive aspects and typical shortcomings of the work done and the opinions of supervisors and reviewers,” Naira Safaryan stated.

The Scientific Council decided to consider the comments and suggestions of the chairpersons of the final certification commissions, identify the current omissions and improve the process during the upcoming sessions.

The members of the Scientific Council listened to and took note of the reports provided by the chairpersons of the standing committees adjunct to the Council.
