On April 6, Governor of Armenia’s Tavush marz (province) Hayk Ghalumyan handed over medals to a number of local residents. The medals were awarded by the order of the RA Minister of Defense.
Tsaghik Karoyan, a second-year student of ASPU specializing in education psychology and sociology, was also awarded a “Garegin Nzhdeh” medal of the RA Ministry of Defense for the close cooperation with the Ministry and support in strengthening relationships between society and the Armed Forces.
By the way Tsaghik Karoyan was the only student nominated for the medal. She has been engaged in public activities since 15. Tsaghik is a member of the initiative group of the Armenian UN Association. As she says she implements a number of programmes for the sake of Armenia simultaneously developing her skills and abilities.
In a conversation with old.aspu.am, Tsaghik Karoyan said that being a resident of Bagratashen, a consolidated community in Noyemberyan, Tavush, she understood that in the regions, especially young people need awareness-raising programmes and activities.
During the 44-day war in Artsakh, Tsaghik Karoyan implemented various programmes in a number of settlements of Tavush region to strengthen the army-society relationship. She organized collection of food and basic necessities, unification of young people and and awareness-raising activities.
"I bow for the sake of peace, for the sake of the sacred memory of our martyred brothers and sisters, all the soldiers and their families," said Tsaghik Karoyan.
