Recently, an international competition entitled "Red Sea Star-2023” was held in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh. The event featured music performers and dance groups from many countries of the world.
Armenia was represented by nine musicians, including Suzanna Mkrtchyan, a 1st-year student of the Department of Music Education at ASPU. The latter came first in the "Piano" category winning the Grand Prix. Suzanna Mkrtchyan has been playing the piano for 14 years. She has participated in many competitions and won many prizes and awards.
In a conversation with www.old.aspu.am, she said she had participated in the competition with greater responsibility. “I believed in my abilities and wanted to represent Armenia with honour. I was the only participant to represent Armenia in that category [piano]. I performed difficult compositions - Prelude No. 1 for Piano by Edward Abrahamyan and Malaguena by Ernesto Lecuona,” she said emphasizing the role of her lecturer Tigran Alaverdyan (Professor of the Chair of Music) in the victory.
Suzanna Mkrtchyan is sure that new prizes and wins await her because there is an effective cooperation with lectures, which, as a rule, gives positive results.
