ASPU Student is the Third Prize Winner in the International Olympiad

From 23-28 April, the students of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology and the Faculty of Foreign Languages Mariam Yevdokimova and Teni Harutyunyan participated in the international Olympiad “Russian World: the Symphony of Language and Culture” held in Moscow.

The Olympiad dedicated to the Russian language was organized in two stages: first stage was distant, while the second stage took place at the Moscow City Psychological- Pedagogical University. As a result of accomplishing several assignments winners were selected.

Out of representatives from seven different countries the student of the Pedagogical University Mariam Yevdakimova won the third prize, received a diploma and a symbolic gift.

The participant of the Olympiad successfully passed the written test, performed Tchaikovsky’s “May” as the creative work, after which she compared the country’s landscape with Tchaikovsky’s “The Seasons” musical piece by using her collage created about the Russian world.

“I selected Russian as a foreign language at the University; due to the linguistic skills obtained in the process of studies I was able to participate in an international Olympiad. Meanwhile, I also participated in interactive presentations, master classes, thanks to which we got more familiarized with the characteristics and peculiarities of the Russian culture,” mentioned the ASPU student.

Mariam Yevdakimova added in the interview to the old.aspu.am that it was her first involvement in an international Olympiad, which served as a good opportunity for intercultural communication and improving Russian language skills.
