Anush Sargsyan, a MA student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, participated in a festival of francophone students from Central and Oriental Europe organized on the initiative of the Francophone University Association (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Bucharest (Romania) on April 11–15, 2016.

The festival was aimed at uniting [around one idea] about 70 students from 17 countries and creating a platform for intercultural dialogue among young people. It focused on promoting multilingualism and facilitating the use of French in a multicultural context.

“I had an opportunity to participate in lectures and discussions concerning the youth, their professional growth and career, as well as their chances to continue studies abroad,” Anush Sargsyan said to old.aspu.am. She emphasized the knowledge of foreign languages and said participation in such events is the best way to develop one’s language skills.

The programme included research activity as well as cultural, creative and artistic events, evenings of different cultures and competitions. In one of the cultural soirees /The Colours of My Country/, the Armenian delegate introduced the culture of her homeland and got acquainted with the culture of other countries.

Despite the busy schedule, the participants found time to visit several historical and cultural centers in Bucharest. “I was especially impressed by the Cotroceni Palace which also houses the Cotroceni National Museum. It was built in the 17th century,” the ASPU student said.
