KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

From November 13 to 18, 1st year student of the Instrumental Performance Division of the Faculty of Culture at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Narek Shalunts participated in the “Gold Palm 2023” International Competition-Festival held in the United Arab Emirates.

Hosted by Dubai, the competition of the World Association of Performing Arts gathered nearly 100 participants from 10 countries who performed in the genres of dance, vocals, instrumentals and other more.

The jury included representatives of all the participating countries.

Narek Shalunts performed Monti’s “Czardas” (Chardash) in the instrumentals competition.

Lecturer Sevada Shhoyan’s student Narek Shalunts won the Grand Prize for his performances of melodies with the Armenian clarinet.

In an interview with old.aspu.am, the student of the ASPU stated that he is rehearsing to perform with the Armenian duduk at the upcoming competition in Greece as well.
