ASPU students are trained

Training on education quality assurance was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University on November 23-25 within the framework of the TEMPUS ESPAQ (Enhancing Students Participation in Quality Assurance in Armenian HE) Project.

The three-day event focused on quality assurance in Armenian universities, students' engagement in QA processes and their participation in the accreditation process, the role and significance of students’ unions and other issues.

Participants worked in three groups, held active discussions and seminars and heard European experts who introduced the entire project to the trainees.

On the second day of the training, they divided into groups, discussed the prerequisites for democracy of students’ unions and came up with proposals.

On the same day, the participants were required to find ways to involve students in students’ unions and engage students into processes of quality assurance.

After summarizing the results of the three-day activities, the trainees were awarded certificates of participation.

The training organized within the framework of the TEMPUS ESPAQ project brought together 60 students from Armenian universities and students’ unions.

On the third day of the training, the participants summed up the activities of the previous two days, identified problems and determined their priorities. The attendees also offered solutions to part of the problems. The training was conducted by Simon Jones and Simon Varwel, representatives of the Student Participation in Quality Scotland (SPARQS), as well as Cristi Popescu, a member of the European Students' Union.
